Pharmaceutical manufacturers: How to Become Involved

The Medicine Return Pilot Project in Washington State has been made possible with funding from private and public grants, as well as the participation of staff from governmental, non-profit, and private sector partners. The project team especially appreciates the generous participation of Group Health Cooperative.

The goal is to eventually establish an ongoing medicine return program throughout Washington State. However, an ongoing program will require ongoing funding and support.

Since grants will not be available in the long term, the project team hopes to transition the pilot to a product stewardship system similar to British Columbia’s Medications Return Program, which has been operating for over 10 years.
